The music is uplifting, joyous and free. Much of the melody line is based in the TB parts so there’s lots of fun for men. Based on the delightful poem written by Canadian poet, Lucy Maud Montgomery.

Decked with passages of counterpoint and homophony, this arrangement features the traditional New Zealand ballad with a catchy melody and driving rhythm. Commissioned by St. Patrick’s High School in 2021.

This piece has been premiered by the Chor Leoni Men’s Choir and recorded by Britain’s Gesualdo Six. Based on the poem by Sir Charles G.D. Roberts, this piece uses garden imagery to paint a story about a conventional person seduced by the appearance of the free spirited and non-committal “Carmenesque” person.
