The magical poem is by E Pauline Johnson and evokes the enchantment of nature like so much of her writing. This dreamlike work captures the undulating rhythm of the “night wind whispering” through the forest to a friend “beyond the sea.”

In February 2022, a brave Ukrainian woman gave Russian soldiers sunflower seeds to put in their pockets so “when they die, sunflowers will grow.” This short song is a reflection on this gesture and the extremely sad situation has transpired with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
