Any of these sound familiar?

Here’s some SPOOKTACULAR music based on a traditional melody that is accessible for the classroom or concert hall. This 2-4pt piece can work with any combination of voices so that young, changing voices will fit easily into one of the parts.

The vivid imagery, “murmuring voice “and “eager hearts”, sets the stage for renewal and light after a long winter or period of darkness. Bliss Carman (Canadian poet) captures the essence of rebirth and a sense of overcoming darkness. Commissioned in 2018 by the Vancouver CanSing Choir.

This lovely little dance like arrangement of the traditional nursery rhyme will be a great addition to any developing choir repertoire. Instruments can be added to liven the piece.

Poet Sara Teasdale explores two types of fear: the fear of the dark and the fear of being left alone. As the person lies in the dark they express “My heart that beats too fast will rest too soon.”

The combination of the traditional Portuguese poem which expresses the longing to see Mary in heaven and Blok-Wilson’s original composition provides a compelling and meaningful addition to choral performance programs.
