Sunflower Seeds

In February 2022, a brave Ukrainian woman gave Russian soldiers sunflower seeds to put in their pockets so “when they die, sunflowers will grow.”

This short song is a reflection on this gesture and the extremely sad situation has transpired with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The final verse is a a wish for love and peace to “shine” rather than hate.

The song can easily be sung by unison choirs (any voicing) with optional 2-part descant.
