This expressive new choral setting of Emily Dickinson’s poem “Hope” offers an original melody built on the Dorian mode.
It provides many opportunities for building choral skills and developing vocal literacy (phrasing, vowel placement, breath support, and the use of solfege) and a way to build harmony in beginning choirs.
The piece is supported by a piano accompaniment and optional soaring C instrument.
The setting can be used for classroom or concert setting.
