New Publication: Ah Si Mon Moine Voulait Danser

I’m thrilled that Tux People’s Music has published “Ah Si Mon Moine Voulait Danser”, featuring my arrangement for SAB, piano and spoons (or sticks).

I wrote this for my Prince George Bel Canto Youth Choir – mixed SAB voices – because I needed an energetic and spirited piece that could work well with changing voices and limited range in the lower voices. The dancing melodies and lively rhythms are so playful and the story is hilarious!

The lyrics tell about a girl trying to convince a monk to dance. She entices him with various articles of clothing. Although it is in French and needs to be performed at a fast pace, the lyrics are repeated in every verse.

Excellent festival or novelty piece!
